Tell Your Lawmakers: We Need Science

We need your help to tell Congress that science funding is important! Send this letter to your lawmakers to show them why research is vital to America’s future success.

Dear [Lawmaker],

I, as a constituent, urge you to fund federal science research to help power a bright American future. The White House has asked to cut billions of dollars in fundamental research across our country. Congress has the power to stop it.

The scientific progress of previous generations created our modern world. Your phone and laptop were built on federally funded research, from atomic clocks underpinning GPS location services to the magnetic core memory that puts major processing power in your palm. America’s national labs hosted some of the world’s first web servers, ushering in the age of the internet.

Today, NASA scientists use satellites to track the health of our planet, helping predict natural disasters and vector-borne disease outbreaks. And, National Science Foundation-supported researchers are developing new high-powered MRI technologies to help vulnerable patients get life-saving treatment. Publicly-funded research from federal agencies like NSF, NASA, and DOE makes us safer and healthier.

America has a proud history of innovation. Please invest in a better future for us all.

Sincerely,
